Late August through to September is the best time to visit the Cape West Coast for viewing the spectacular sight of plains of wild flowers. The tour begins in Bloubergstrand to enjoy the finest view of Table Mountain across Table Bay and Robben Island just off the coast.

The tour proceeds north up the West coast, past Koeberg Nuclear power station. This is home to the Renosterveld and Strandveld species of Fynbos.

The tour takes our guests through the Swartland and enters the West Coast National Park. Postberg at the northern tip of the seaward side of Langebaan Lagoon affords wonderful scenes of wild flowers in their spring glory.

The lagoon itself provides habitat for millions of migrant birds; some from as far away as Siberia. Saldanha Bay, once a thriving fishing centre, but still an important safe harbour, has delicious sea-food restaurants.

The tour continues through the region which includes numerous areas of undisturbed floral beauty and stark vegetation. A fossil park, with the most diverse collection of remains in the world is worth a visit. Time permitting, return via Darling for the flower show in September or visit the famous "Pink Palace"  of Pieter Dirk Uys, comedian and satirist, thorn in the side, of the past and present, Governments.
